Colour gradient images

Each image is 256 by 256 pixels, has exactly 256 unique colours and has a smooth vertical transition from one colour to another.
I don't really know if anyone else needs such images, but anyhow, here they are.
If you need them, then do whatever you like with them.

I made these images with POV-Ray while experimenting with UV-mapping of images onto meshes.
The images are stored in the PING format (PNG).
(In most browsers you can right click on images in order to get a menu from where you can save them.)
If you want the gradients to be turned upside down or to go horizontally, just rotate them in an image editor.
